Making memories

This vacation has been interesting to say the least. The week took some unexpected twists and turns for the worst, but it's still been fun amidst the rollercoaster of events. If I've learned anything this year, it's how lucky I am to have so many amazing people in my life that are there for me no matter what. This was a week for spending time with some of them.

It's been 6 years since our crazy awesome Wazzu college days, but no matter how many miles separate us or how many months pass between visits, it's like we just pick up where we left off. It's fantastic having friends like this!
Now and then: 2014 and 2009
The Cheers theme song is applicable to just about every trip home:

                                                         Sometimes you want to go
                                                  Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.

You wanna be where you can see,

our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

Of course, what would Christmas vacation be without family gatherings?

The poinsettia is bigger than me!
Causing trouble with my aunt
My great uncle is so hilarious! Always a good time.
I love wide open spaces to clear my head. A nice 5 or 6 mile run usually does the trick, as does a trip down memory lane in my hometown.

Hello mini moo! Always love going out to see the cows. There's not a lot for me to do out there these days, but it's still fun going out to the pasture to see them and getting my boots dirty.

                                                          Merry Christmas!

If you are on Facebook, check out the Kimmi's Dairyland Facebook page for a countdown of my top 10 posts of 2014 each day for the rest of the year (starting tonight). Thanks to all of you following along with my adventures this year and taking the time to read my blog. It means a lot!
