It’s finally SPRING!!! Well, technically. Judging by the
snow on my truck Tuesday morning it doesn’t look like spring at times, but I’m
so happy to see my flowers starting to bloom. This place definitely needs some
more color.
When my brother and I were younger, our parents took us up
to Skagit County (Washington) to see the tulips. This wasn’t just any “garden”
of tulips.
The colors are awesome. The Tulip Festival allows everyone
to become what my friend Andrew calls a tulip tourist.
While I don’t have miles and miles of tulips right outside
my front door, I am happy that my few tulips are finally blooming. Warmer
weather is finally here (hopefully!).
Spring brings pretty flowers in the gardens and it’s also a
busy time for farmers. As soon as the ground dries out enough to get out into
the fields, it’s time for planting. Keep in mind cows still need to be milked,
fed and cared for. Life on the farm is ALWAYS busy.
As life gets busier and the weather warms up and flowers bloom,
this is a perfect time to enjoy ice cream and your other favorite dairy
products with your family. Since the weather is warmer, I love running outside
and drinking chocolate milk afterwards. Chocolate milk has the ideal ratio of carbohydrates
to protein to help recover from a tough workout. You don’t have to tell me that
twice. And it tastes delicious. …and no, chocolate milk does not come from
brown cows J
