Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

Today is a day to show all of our moms how much we appreciate them. On a side note, if you haven’t already bought a card and flowers for your mom, you might want to do that.

Living 2,000 miles away from my family, I usually miss most of these holidays, but not this year. Mom flew to Indy for the weekend!

The weather has been perfect so far, so she helped me with a few gardening projects I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but just haven’t had the time for. It’s also been fun showing her around the area.

As I was looking through old photo albums this morning for pictures for this blog post, I came across a few fun ones of me and mom from long ago.

Mom and I took a trip to California to see family (and left the guys at home!) in the early '90s...great fun!

Mom brought her friends to see me show my cows at the state fair in high school when I was Dairy Princess
On a dairy, every day is Mother’s Day for the cows. Dairy cows must have a calf before they can produce milk. Cows have access to feed and water pretty much whenever they want, spend about half of their time lying down and dairy farmers have veterinarians on call if the cows aren’t feeling well and need medical attention. A cow’s life is pretty good! Regardless of whether cows are kept in a barn or out on pasture, dairy farmers ensure the cows are comfortable and happy. From their bedding to their diets, cows receive careful attention.

So, this Mother’s Day, don’t forget to show your mom how special she is to you and don’t forget to thank all of the bovine mothers out there by picking up a gallon of milk and your favorite dairy products to help celebrate with your family.

  1. You can never say this enough. Every one of her penances, restless evenings, the qualities and goals she showed you, giving every one of your needs and so forth., is something you can't reimburse. The rundown of things you mother improves the situation you is perpetual and unqualified. So say "Thank You Mom", it implies a great deal to her. ForMomz.com

  3. In america, Mother's Day is celebrated on the next Weekend of May. In a few countries it was modified to dates which were significant to almost all religion, or even to historical dates.
